A Letter from Our Director
Why pursue a finance degree? Finance significantly contributes to a well-functioning economy and society. Capital markets ensure that we can achieve both economic growth and social welfare. This is precisely why finance professionals play an important role in helping individuals and companies reach their fullest potential. As a result, careers in finance are demanding. You will work hard, but also be rewarded.
The K-State Finance Scholars Program prepares high-achieving finance students for careers within the target finance sectors by providing unique resources and opportunities. Each student is carefully selected into the program, trained and coached in advanced finance knowledge, technical abilities, and soft skills to be competitive for internship and full-time career opportunities. Training resources, alumni events and workshops, company visits, finance competitions, resume and interview coaching, networking, and social events are some of the unique experiences provided to K-State Finance Scholars. The Program is supported by the Gates Capital Management Center for Financial Analysis, the Department of Finance, and the College of Business, and is made possible by the generous financial support of finance alumni.
We are in search of highly motivated students with superior academic achievements with an interest in the most competitive and exciting careers in the business world: asset management, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting careers. If you are considering joining our program, please do not hesitate to contact me for additional information. We also welcome discussions with industry recruiters and alumni regarding the details of our program and potential partnership opportunities.
